For always going an extra mile in whatever I do

I know how passionate you are about your work, however I have tasted your best dishes and baked cookies, please tell us about that? When did it start and are there any other passions we don’t know about??
My God-given gift is to serve.  I suppose to cook is an adventurous way of serving others,  and I love eating good food!
The biscuits started out of need when my husband was retrenched recently and I had to find a way to continue paying for my haircuts, hence I started baking biscuits and it just took off!
Other passions? If you are using your gifts, take pride in what you do and are committed to it, then passion is a natural thing.

Being a mother and one of the most valuable assets at Orley,  please tell us how do you balance your work and your family life? When do you find the time to cook and bake?
I don’t know how balanced it is, but in my family we’ve always known that work is what puts the bread on the table, therefore to a big extent work always comes first.
I mostly bake over weekends. When I’ve put on my slippers and the radio is tuned into Radio Tygerberg, then I can cook and bake all day long!!

What is your philosophy in life??
Never leave for tomorrow what you can do today

Tell us something we couldn’t guess or know about you?
I was a real hippie surfer girl in my young days and lived in a van on the beach after I got married.

Are you married?  Do you have children?
Have been married for 33 years and have 2 beautiful children. A son of 30 and a daughter of 27

Being one of the long time members of the Orley team, please tell us why would one join Orley Foods??
Personally, and this is really personally, I do not believe in choosing a place of work.
I believe in asking God to put you where He needs you to be and that’s the job that you’ll get.
